Q: The look-ups to the Person File is not working on my 398 form pages. How can I correct this?

Q: The Tuition Remission is not automatically included on the budget pages. Is there a way to include this figure?
A: On the Data-Personnel page, the "Grad" checkbox must be checked for the tuition remission to be included in the budget for each grad student. If you want to use the predefined tuition figures, which is a percentage of the person's salary, the question on the Data-Other page must be answered "Yes". If you would like to use your own calculations, answer this question "No" and enter in the amounts.
-
Q: How do I enter custom amounts for personnel or other categories for years 2 through 5?
A: You can enter custom amounts for all the categories on the Data-Multi Year page. For each category there is a row for custom amounts, any amount entered in this row will override all other figures.

Q: I see a "yes" or "no" printed near checkboxes on the face page when I print it but not on the screen. How can this be corrected?

Q: On my Windows screen, some parts of the text on the page overlap and can't be read, but when I print, it is fine. Can this be corrected?
A: This happens when the text has been formatted to align in a particular way and is incorrectly interpreted across platforms. Such mistakes may be inevitable in this application but report problems to desktools_support@biostat.wisc.edu.

Q: Some text on the face page and other pages on the Windows version doesn't print correctly. For example, the text seems to run over its allocated space, can this be fixed?
A: This may be a printer driver problem and updating the driver may correct this problem. Otherwise, you can modify the text by using a smaller font if it is a text field you've entered. If it is text that is a permanent part of the application, notify the desktools support team about the problem at desktools_support@biostat.wisc.edu.
